🧮 The Schengen 90/180-Day Rule Explained Simply

With a short-stay Schengen visa (or visa-free entry) you may stay up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period across all Schengen countries combined.

How to count

For any day, look back 179 days. Count all days you were in the Schengen area inside that window. If the total is 90 or less, you are compliant.

Example

If you spent 60 days in the area between January and March, then plan 40 days in June, check whether those 60 days are still inside the window on each day of your trip.
